Shu Pin

Yeo Shu Pin (Shu Pin) holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) from University of Malaya and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) with First Class Honours from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). Throughout her academic journey, she consistently earned recognition for her excellence, and she was awarded the “Vice Chancellor” Gold Medal award and the “Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International)” Gold Medal award.

Shu Pin commenced her legal career with Messrs Azmi & Associates, where she gained invaluable experience in the Merger & Acquisition practice group. Her tenure there exposed her to a wide array of legal domains, including merger and acquisition transactions, intellectual property, information technology, and corporate and commercial advisory works.

Subsequently, she transitioned to a role as a legal associate with a prominent pharmaceutical company in Malaysia, specializing in trademark matters across various jurisdictions such as Malaysia, Singapore, the European Union, and the United States. Returning to practice in 2015, Shu Pin joined Messrs Jeff Leong, Poon & Wong as an associate, broadening her legal expertise in areas such as privacy, intellectual property, information technology, construction, and corporate and commercial advisory works. Her portfolio encompassed diverse industries including constructions, renewable energy, property development, and oil and gas.

Shu Pin also served as a Legal Manager at Hong Leong Bank Berhad, where she exhibited proficiency in managing contested cases for the collection team. She excelled in resolving complex cases, facilitating successful debt recovery actions, and providing guidance on legal issues pertaining to privacy, banking, and insolvency laws.
At Messrs Afif Rahman & Chong, Shu Pin actively participates in the renewable energy sector, offering legal advice to investors, developers, EPC contractors, and offtakers on contracts pertinent to the Malaysian renewable energy industry. Academically, her passion for sustainability and green initiatives led her to complete the Business Sustainability Management programme with the University of Cambridge, Institute for Sustainability Leadership, further deepening her commitment to environmentally conscious business practices.

Building upon her extensive experience and driven by a vision to provide personalised, strategic legal solutions, on 1 April 2025, Shu Pin founded her own legal practice, Shu Pin & Associates. The firm reflects her commitment to excellence and innovation in legal practice, offering legal services with a focus on corporate advisory, renewable energy, Conveyancing, intellectual property and cross-border commercial matters.

Shu Pin currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Cropmate Berhad, where she contributes to strategic oversight and governance of a company listed in the ACE Market.

Beyond her professional endeavours, Shu Pin is an active committee member of prominent organisations including the Federation Malaysian Manufacturer (FMM), the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), the Klang Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (KCCCI), and Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM). Her commitment to fostering international relationships is evident through her advisory roles with numerous embassies, including those of Peru, Hungary, Turkey, and Pakistan, among others. Additionally, she serves as the Advisor for the Malaysia Vietnam Friendship Association, underscoring her dedication to promoting diplomacy and collaboration on a global scale.
